Focus Awards Level 4 Certificate

Qualification Overview:
The Focus Awards Level 4 Certificate in Laser and Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Treatments (RQF) is aimed at beauty therapists looking to specialise in laser treatments.  The qualification will provide learners with the knowledge and understanding required in order to provide laser and intense pulsed light treatment to the general public.

The qualification focuses on reducing hair growth and photo rejuvenation of the skin using laser and intense pulsed light (IPL).  The qualification will also cover; safe working practices, identifying and controlling hazards, identifying hair and skin conditions and those clients suitable for intense light and laser system treatments.

To successfully achieve the Focus Awards Level 4 Certificate in Laser and Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Treatments (RQF) learners must complete all the mandatory units totalling 31 Credits.

Qualification Type:
The Focus Awards Level 4 Certificate in Laser and Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Treatments (RQF). The RQF framework gives learners the opportunity to get the qualifications they need, in a way that suits them. RQF qualifications are designed with the help of employers so learners can be assured that they’re gaining skills that employers are looking for.

The RQF:

  • Recognises smaller steps of learning and enables learners to build up qualifications bit by bit
  • Helps learners achieve skills and qualifications that meet industry needs
  • Enables work-based training to be nationally recognised

Learner Entry Requirements:
A learner must have previously completed a Level 3 Diploma in Beauty Therapy qualification, other than this Focus Awards do not set any other entry requirements for the qualification; however other requirements may be required by the centre.

Progression Routes:
Learners wishing to progress from this qualification can undertake the following qualifications:

  • Level 4 Award in Physiology for Advanced Beauty Therapy
  • Level 4 Certificate in Salon Management
  • Level 4 Diploma in Advanced Beauty Therapy
